Development plans have been submitted for planning approval for a $35 million-dollar hotel development situated on Port Adelaide’s riverfront.
A bold new accommodation plan backed by private enterprise; naming Quest as Hotel Operator is set to double the size of their critical apartment hotel infrastructure to support the area through an era of unprecedented transformation.
The waterfront development will comprise 90 rooms, across six storeys – with extensive floor to ceiling glass harnessing its enviable northern aspect, generous balconies providing uninterrupted sweeping views of the hills and picturesque river, secure parking, modern gym facilities – and a connection to premium dining in the historic award-winning British Hotel, located adjacent.
The principal of Neville Smith, Mr. Hans Ehmann - is behind the major project earmarked for the North Parade site 10 & 12 North Parade, Port Adelaide.
“This hotel development will be a significant addition to the Port’s waterfront landscape and will provide a boost to the tourism sector, driving domestic and international visitor spend to the area,” Mr Ehmann said.
“In line with recent major submarine and related investment commitments the hotel will not only support increased visitation and stay demands but provide a hub to retain the economic activity locally.”
“We have worked with leading architects and consultants to develop a property design that celebrates the prominent site showcasing its key focal points, orientating half the apartments to face the Port River and Semaphore and the other half the Adelaide Hills. The development will also prioritise the use of Australian products and South Australian contractors wherever possible.”
The construction and delivery of this premium asset has been entrusted to Mossop Construction and Interiors who also have deep connections to Port Adelaide. Managing Director, Mr Neil Mossop said, “We are delighted to be involved in this significant hotel development adding further commercial uplift enhancing Port Adelaide’s future.”
“There is no other local government area in Australia embarking on a transformation like the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, this project demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting its economic evolution and ensuring future sustainable success.” Mr Ehmann concluded.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
